The stands of the State Farm stadium in the US state of Arizona, where the farewell ceremony for the murdered political activist Charlie Kirk began, were filled with people dressed in the colors of the American flag. Footage from the scene of the September 21 events is published by Izvestia.

"Dozens of people filled the stadium, dressed in the colors of the American flag. Many are wearing red MAGA caps (the slogan "Make America great again." — ed.), which have become a modern symbol of the Republicans. All this is in memory of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk," correspondent Nikolai Masters said.

Shortly before that, thousands of people lined up in front of the stadium to say goodbye to the political activist. Some took their places in the queue at night. Those present, among others, specially flew in from other states.

The Washington Post (WP) reported on increased security measures at the Kirk Memorial in Phoenix. It was noted that they would be comparable to those typical for the funerals of heads of state and the Super Bowl.

Kirk died on September 10 as a result of an assassination attempt committed at the time of his speech at the University of Utah. He played a key role in the victory of American President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. On September 16, suspect Tyler Robinson was formally charged with capital murder, intentionally or knowingly causing Kirk's death in circumstances that pose a significant risk of death to others.
