Director Yuri Butusov was buried at the Kuntsevo cemetery in Moscow.

On September 21, the funeral of theater director Yuri Butusov took place at the Kuntsevo cemetery in Moscow. According to TASS, about 200 people came to the farewell ceremony with the director, among whom were famous directors and actors of Moscow theaters.

The urn with the ashes of the theatrical figure was buried in the 10.06 sector more than 40 days after his death.

"Yura's departure is an incomprehensible event. It cannot be taken and accepted at the same time. The fact that we have already said goodbye to him several times indicates that we can only comprehend his physical absence gradually," Konstantin Raikin, artistic director of the Satyricon Theater, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, said at the ceremony.

Butusov died on August 10 at the age of 64. His death was announced by actress Varvara Shmykova. According to Kirill Krok, director of the Vakhtangov Theater, the director drowned in Bulgaria while on vacation with his family. He was cremated in Bulgaria, followed by a farewell ceremony in Sofia on August 14. In Moscow, Butusov's farewell took place on August 23 at the Pushkin Theater, after which the ashes were transported to St. Petersburg.
