If the Moldovan opposition wins the elections, it will return the country to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was announced on September 21 by the former president, chairman of the Party of Socialists of Moldova Igor Dodon.

"If Moldova's opposition wins the elections, it will return the country to the CIS and the EAEU, and will receive observer status in the BRICS and the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization. — Ed.)," RIA Novosti reports.

Dodon also called Moldovan President Maia Sandu's policy "short-sighted" and "too globalistic," pointing to the rapid increase in poverty in the country.

Earlier, on September 20, it was reported that the opposition forces could have won the upcoming elections in Moldova in a week if they had been on equal terms with the ruling party. Political commentator Corneliu Ciurea announced the suspension of opposition parties and the blocking of the media.
