- The NPP will be able to restore external power supply without a disconnected backup line.
The Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) can provide stable external energy supply for its own needs even without restoring the backup high–voltage Ferroalloy-1 line, which has been shut down for the fifth month and is located in the territory controlled by Ukraine. This was announced on September 21 by Yuri Chernichuk, Director of the ZAES.
"And we can do it all by ourselves, without anyone's help. We have enough forces, means, knowledge and skills to do this absolutely on our own," the TASS news agency quoted the director as saying.
However, according to the director, in order to start work, it is necessary that the fire impact on the station and on the territory around the facility be stopped.
Earlier, on September 20, it was reported that the second backup high-voltage external power supply line of the Ferroalloy-1 NPP, which has been disconnected for the fifth month, was damaged in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
