Matvienko named the main criterion for evaluating artists at Intervision
In their performance at the international song contest "Intervision", artists must represent their nationality. This was announced on September 20 by Russian composer and judge of the event from the Russian Federation Igor Matvienko.
He shared that he had already worked out a criterion for evaluating the contestants. According to Matvienko, after the dress rehearsal, he realized that his thought was absolutely correct.
"The participant must show the culture of his country — this is in melody, in clothes. In general, the issue itself should represent the nationality that it represents. This is the most important thing for me," the composer shared.
Earlier in the day, Brazilian judge Kaka Machado emphasized the diversity of the performing artists' repertoire. According to him, the compositions performed by representatives of Latin American countries are radically different from African and Asian countries, as well as from Russia itself. He also shared that during the evaluation he is going to pay attention to the originality and emotions of the contestants.
The final of Intervision will be held in Moscow on September 20 at the Live Arena. SHAMAN will perform from the Russian Federation with Maxim Fadeev's musical composition "Straight to the Heart". Alexander Ovechkin, a Russian hockey player and captain of the Washington Capitals NHL club, has been announced as the cultural ambassador of Intervision 2025. The final of the competition will be hosted by performer Alexey Vorobyov and Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Aida Garifullina.
