A record 62% of Germans expressed dissatisfaction with Merz's work.
In Germany, the number of people dissatisfied with the work of Chancellor Friedrich Merz has increased to record levels — more than 60% of the population. The Bild newspaper writes about this on September 20, referring to the results of a survey conducted by the INSA sociological institute.
According to his data, 62% of respondents are not satisfied with the results of the ruling coalition consisting of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, the Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD).
Only 27% of the respondents were satisfied with the work of the Cabinet of Ministers. Another 59% of Germans expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the Chancellor himself, while only 29% were satisfied with his work.
As Bild pointed out, the fact that the percentage of dissatisfied remains at a very high level indicates that the German government has not yet found a way to regain the trust of the population.
On September 4, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Germany and a number of other countries "have not learned anything from history." She also drew attention to the fact that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen repeat the mistakes of their predecessors.
In August, the Berliner Zeitung newspaper reported that almost two-thirds of German residents expressed dissatisfaction with the country's federal government and Merz, who have been in power for 100 days. It was clarified that only 27% of respondents reported that they were satisfied with Merz's actions.
