The number of printed translated editions in Russia in the first half of 2025 decreased compared to the same period last year. This was reported on September 20 by the RBC news agency, citing data from the Russian Book Chamber.

In the first half of 2025, 53 thousand books were released, of which 8.1 thousand were translated. At the same time, 51 thousand books were published in 2024, of which 8.59 thousand were translated.

For comparison, it is noted that in the same period of 2023, 50.8 thousand books were published, of which 8.74 thousand were translations.

On September 7, the State Duma proposed introducing a personalized bank card, the Dostoevsky Card, with an annual replenishment of 10,000 rubles for the purchase of books. It was noted that students will be able to spend money on the purchase of historical and popular science literature.
