Currently, the Federal Air Transport Agency is not considering the possibility of introducing a ban on the transportation of portable batteries (powerbanks) in airplanes. This was announced on September 20 by the head of the department Dmitry Yadrov.

"This issue is not on the agency's agenda right now. Russian airlines had two cases: both have been thoroughly analyzed, and the power banks have submitted them for examination. Based on this, it was decided that it was premature for us to introduce restrictions on the industry," TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, on June 4, the press service of Yakutia Airlines reported smoke in the cabin on board the YAK-488 aircraft. It was reported that the cause of the incident was a short circuit of the portable battery of one of the passengers.
