UN Security Council reinstates sanctions against Iran
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has rejected a draft resolution on maintaining the lifting of sanctions against Iran. This was reported on September 19 by the RIA Novosti news agency.
South Korea, the chairman of the UN Security Council, has submitted to the body a draft resolution on maintaining the lifting of sanctions against Iran. He was supported by Algeria, China, Russia and Pakistan. Nine states opposed it: Great Britain, Greece, Denmark, Panama, Slovenia, Somalia, the United States, Sierra Leone, and France.
