Moscow court extends arrest of captured British mercenary
British mercenary Hayden William Davis, who took part in the fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), has had his arrest extended. This became known on Friday, September 19, from court materials.
"A decision has been issued to grant the request for an extension of the period of detention. The accused is Davis X," RIA Novosti reports the text of the document.
Davis was captured in January 2025 in Donbass and said that in 2021 he was kicked out of the British army. After that, he served as a mercenary in various countries until he ended up in Ukraine.
Earlier, on September 17, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that military investigators had completed an investigation into 177 foreign mercenaries who took part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine. According to the ministry, mercenaries from various countries, including Georgia, Brazil, Colombia, Japan and others, are subject to criminal liability.
