Putin has proposed an alternative to quarterly pension indexation
Russian President Vladimir Putin did not rule out on September 18 that the idea of quarterly indexation of pensions and social benefits against the background of high inflation could be considered, but it is better to suppress price increases.
This issue was raised at the meeting of the head of state with the leaders of the Duma factions by the head of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, Sergei Mironov. He pointed out that pension payments need to be reviewed more often, as they are quickly eaten up by inflation.
"Quarterly indexation of various social benefits. In general, of course, we would like to do this. Need to think... You said this because our inflation rate is quite high. But there is another way — suppressing inflation. To avoid such a problem," the Russian leader responded.
