Roman Alyokhin, a military blogger and ex-adviser to the governor of the Kursk region, who found himself at the center of the scandal, Roman Alyokhin, a military blogger who found himself at the center of a money laundering scandal when organizing assistance to participants in a special military operation, at one time intended to take the place of ataman of the Kursk Cossack society. This was announced on September 18 by Izvestia correspondent Alexander Nadsadny.

In 2017, Alekhine wanted to enter the Cossack circle, a sacred place for Cossacks where strangers are not allowed. Nonresidents are not chosen as atamans, as well as those who are not Cossacks by birth and have nothing to do with this culture.

"There were six candidates for the position of ataman in this circle. I was one of them, but two more showed up. One of these two was Roman Alekhine," said Igor Filippovsky, ataman of the Kursk District Cossack Society.

Then Roman traveled several times to distant villages, where he studied the cultural traditions of the Cossacks, and also held social events with dancing. When the Cossacks joined the civil service and received funding from the budget, lawyer Alekhine decided to move from songs closer to money. The Cossacks, having "figured out" that a well-appointed Cossack had entered their circle, began to ask the man relevant questions, after which he behaved openly incorrectly. Then, without standing on ceremony, he was executed according to the Cossack regulations.

"What is the punishment of the Cossacks? The punishment is a whip. Accordingly, it means your back: "the whip is crying for her." He realized that he had said something stupid, but nevertheless he also used foul language. I'm not making anything up," Filippovsky said.

Roman began to avenge the insult to the Cossacks in an epistolary genre, notes Izvestia correspondent Alexander Nadsadny, launching an entire campaign to discredit the Cossack movement in general and specifically Ataman Filippovsky. After the start of his military career, Alekhine began delivering humanitarian aid. And he was caught doing suspicious things again. Further, the journalists have already exposed the failed Cossack chieftain. Now he is collecting lawsuits against those who found out about his non-military activities.

Olivia Livingston, a lawyer and head of the Law and Sport Research center, told Izvestia on September 11 that Alyokhin, a military blogger, could face a criminal case under articles on large-scale fraud and money laundering. An investigation is underway against Alekhine on suspicion of fraud related to assistance to military personnel of his military district.

In 2014, Alekhine was tried for selling substandard prosthetics for the disabled. It was clarified that for a small amount he purchased old prosthetics from the families of deceased disabled people or those who needed money. However, he was only fined in court.

Now the military blogger is suspected of money laundering and tax evasion under the guise of helping participants in a special operation. Izvestia has footage of the military blogger talking about a way to launder millions of rubles through his charitable foundation. As part of the criminal scheme, the company transfers 200 million rubles to the fund for allegedly helping the front. After that, Alekhine purchases medicines worth 150 million from a company affiliated with the company for its participants, and keeps the remaining funds for himself as a "commission."
