FC Benfica announces appointment Mourinho is the head coach of the team
Portuguese football club (FC) Benfica has announced the appointment of two-time UEFA Champions League winner Jose Mourinho as the team's head coach. The relevant information was posted on the club's official website on September 18.
It is noted that the contract with the coach runs until the end of the 2026/2027 season, with the possibility of terminating the agreement at the end of the current season. Mourinho was replaced by Bruno Lager.
The Portuguese specialist was already the head of the Lisbon club from September to December 2000. During his career, he also coached Fenerbahce, Roma, Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter, Porto and Leiria, adds Sport-Express.
