Each educational institution has the right to independently determine the standard of clothing for students, but being outraged by the fact that someone is wearing unusual clothes is not the smartest behavior. Anatoly Wasserman, a member of the State Duma Committee on Education, expressed this opinion on Thursday, September 18, commenting on information about parents' outrage over students who came to Chubarov school in hijabs.

"Now the standards of clothing in each educational institution are determined independently, they may even determine that there are no standards. The issue of uniforming the form is not being discussed, but there are probably as many possible objections as suggestions. Therefore, I cannot unequivocally approve or, on the contrary, condemn such wearing," he said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

At the same time, Wasserman noted that the canons of Islam do not require wearing clothes that seriously hide the face and body, although they require modesty. In his opinion, it is excessive to impose such norms on children.

Earlier that day, it became known that at the Chubarov school in the Kaluga region, parents were outraged because of students who came to classes in hijabs, according to the website. kp.ru .

A local resident said that two students from grades 7 and 9 began to appear in class wearing hijabs. According to her, the school principal tried to convey to the girls' parents the rules of wearing secular uniforms, but such a conversation did not bring results. Moreover, one of the mothers came to school with a lawyer.

In turn, Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov noted in an interview with RT that no legislative acts have been adopted at the state level in Russia that would restrict the wearing of the hijab in any way.

At the same time, he added that in Russia there are institutions where children and adolescents of different ages and faiths are located at the same time. In this regard, in such educational institutions it is stipulated that the appearance and clothing of students must comply with the generally accepted norms of business style in society and be secular in nature.

Earlier, on June 29, it was reported that GOST was introduced in Russia for the first time, which comes into force on July 1, for sewing school uniforms.

In accordance with the new standards, uniforms for schoolchildren should be designed in a business style, and the cut should be used so that it is comfortable to stay in a sitting position for a long time, according to the website. kp.ru .

It is stipulated that clothing should be secular, aesthetic, and should not contain prohibited symbols. GOST also provides for the placement of state and patriotic symbols on school uniforms.
