Divers have recovered the bodies of two more victims from a flooded all-terrain vehicle in Transbaikalia. This was announced on September 18 by the press service of the Department of Civil Defense and Fire Safety of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
"The search and rescue operation on Lake Amudisa in the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory ended with the recovery of the bodies of five dead geologists. <...> On September 18, as a result of the work, the bodies of two more dead were found," the department's Telegram channel says.
The bodies of the victims will be taken to the central district hospital for identification, the department said. According to the press service, work is currently underway with the help of heavy machinery to extract the sunken all-terrain vehicle to shore.
On September 16, in the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, an all-terrain vehicle with failed brakes flew into Lake Amudisa and drowned. It was clarified that there were nine geologists in the cabin. Four of them were able to get out on their own. On September 17, divers found an all-terrain vehicle at the bottom of the lake and retrieved the bodies of three victims.
