Automaker JLR extended production shutdown due to cyber attacks
Automaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has extended its production shutdown due to an investigation into a cyberattack and improvements to its cybersecurity system. This is reported on the official website of the company.
"Today we have informed <...> about the extension of the current production suspension until Wednesday, September 24, 2025. We have made this decision in connection with the ongoing investigation of the cyber incident and the consideration of various stages of a controlled resumption of our global operations, which will take time," the company said.
JLR expressed regret for the ongoing disruptions and promised to keep the investigation informed.
Earlier, on September 3, it was reported that a cyberattack had seriously disrupted JLR's production, including at the company's two main factories in the UK. The company said it had taken urgent measures to mitigate the consequences of the hack. It is noted that the cyberattack affected the Jaguar Land Rover retail network, but there is no evidence of theft of any customer data.
