Krasnodar International Airport will start operating around the clock in 2026. So far, flights are allowed only during daylight hours for security reasons.

According to Dmitry Kirichenko, managing director of the airport, the expansion of the geography of flights will begin next year, perhaps at first there will be a transition to round-the-clock operation, writes KrasnodarMedia news agency.

He added that during the three-year pause, the airport was maintained in a functional state.

Passenger traffic of at least 500,000 people is expected at the airport by the end of this year. So far, passenger liners are serviced only during the daytime.

Krasnodar Airport was opened on September 11. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation recalled that it had not operated flights since the end of February 2022 for security reasons. Later, Aeroflot launched ticket sales for flights to Krasnodar from Moscow and other regions of Russia.

On September 17, Aeroflot made its first flight on the Moscow – Krasnodar route. An Airbus A321 plane arrived from Moscow and passed through a water arch in the parking lot of Krasnodar Airport. After landing, a ramp was brought on board, and the crew began disembarking passengers.
