UAZ has released a batch of pre-production Patriots with a new transmission
Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has produced the first batch of 10 pre-production UAZ Patriot SUVs with a new power plant, a 2.7—liter ZMZ Pro gasoline engine and a six-speed manual transmission. This was reported to Izvestia on September 17 by the company's press service. The same transmission is installed on Sollers ST6 pickups, but has different settings.
The "mules" have been transferred to a partner for the adaptation of electronic systems, in particular active safety. The second pre—production batch is being prepared for full-scale testing, including in real conditions," the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant said.
In early September, UAZ began completing the test cycle of the upgraded 150-horsepower ZMZ Pro gasoline engine with a volume of 2.7 liters. The main difference between this engine is the increased number of attachment points around the perimeter of the valve cover and in the spaces between the holes of the candle wells to increase its tightness, the automobile plant noted. The upgraded powertrain will appear on UAZ Patriot, Pickup, Pro and Hunter vehicles.
Earlier, on September 3, it became known that UAZ Patriot, Pickup and Profi cars received a new Russian anti-lock braking system. The active safety device was developed by US Innovative Components and put into mass production.
