Scientists predicted weak magnetic storms on September 17
Weak magnetic storms are possible on Earth on September 17. This was reported in the press service of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"Forecast for the day: geomagnetic situation — high risks of geomagnetic disturbances and weak magnetic storms due to the continued high speed of the solar wind," the laboratory's website says.
At the same time, scientists note that flash activity during the day will be increased with the possibility of moderate growth. The risks of geomagnetic disturbances are also high.
The day before, it was reported that a new G1 (weak) magnetic storm was registered on Earth. Scientists have noted the high speed of the solar wind.
