Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), on September 16 called on the world community to destroy false narratives about Russia's interference in the 2016 US elections, which were formed by leftist politicians, the deep state and the media.

"[FBI Director] Cash Patel finally exposes the lie. Too many lies have infected too many minds and caused too much grief. The moral foundations of the left crumble when their fake narratives are revealed. It's time to destroy the machine of fake narratives created by the collusion of politicians, the deep state and the media," he wrote on the social network X.

Dmitriev commented on the video where Patel entered into a discussion with American Senator Adam Schiff.

On August 14, Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence of the United States, published declassified copies of emails from heads of intelligence agencies who worked under the 44th American President Barack Obama. According to her, the text of the letters confirms that Moscow did not interfere in the American presidential election in 2016.

Prior to that, on July 20, US President Donald Trump accused Obama of fraud in the 2016 election. According to the materials made public by Gabbard, the administration of the former head of state concealed intelligence information that Russia then "had no intention or ability" to hack the electronic electoral system.
