Law enforcement officers have detained a suspect in the brutal murder of a disabled acquaintance in an apartment in eastern Moscow. This was reported in the press service of the Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the capital on Tuesday, September 16.

The Preobrazhensky interdistrict investigative Department of the Investigative Department for the Eastern Administrative District of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Moscow opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraphs "c", paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder of a person known to be in a helpless state, with particular cruelty").

"According to the investigation, on September 11, 2025, the defendant, intoxicated, while in the apartment of a residential building located on Malaya Cherkizovskaya Street in Moscow, inflicted at least 170 blows with an axe, knife and other objects to his friend with disabilities during a conflict that arose on the basis of personal hostility," — The press service told the Moscow City News agency.
