Spartak hockey player Morozov was suspended for violating anti-doping rules
The striker of the Spartak Moscow hockey club, Ivan Morozov, has been temporarily suspended from matches due to a banned substance found in a hockey player's doping test. This was announced on September 16 on the official Spartak website.
"The club draws attention to the fact that the detected substance entered the player's body outside the scope of the activities of HC Spartak and the medical staff of the team. Spartak Hockey Club consistently adheres to the principles of fair play, advocates strict compliance with anti-doping rules and will fully assist the authorized bodies in the ongoing proceedings," the statement said.
It is noted that the club has received an official notification from the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) with information that a prohibited substance has been detected in the sample of striker Ivan Morozov. Spartak decided to temporarily suspend the athlete from participating in the training process and team matches until the circumstances are finally established.
Earlier, on September 11, it was reported that Anatoly Golyshev, a forward of the Avtomobilist hockey club from Yekaterinburg, was disqualified for violating anti-doping rules. It is specified that the athlete was suspended for two seasons due to the detected pseudoephedrine.
