At the autumn session in the State Duma, deputies will consider a bill aimed at eliminating legal inequality concerning special measures to support the stepdaughters and stepsons of the participants of the SVO. Ekaterina Kharchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, told Izvestia about this on September 16.

"Now the native children of our heroes, warriors of light, have the right to enter universities under a special quota and use other state support measures. We are eliminating existing inequalities, because stepsons and stepdaughters are the same children. Our defenders, our men, bring them up and keep them. I think this is a very significant bill that will expand the range of such support measures," Kharchenko said.

She noted that over the past four years, 139 laws have been adopted concerning measures to support members of the SVR and their families.

According to Kharchenko, there are 1,174 bills in the State Duma's portfolio for the autumn session. Among them: projects on personnel training for healthcare and education; rural development; economic development and support for the real sector of the economy, especially digital technologies.

"Large parliamentary hearings are scheduled for December, which relate to the legal basis for the use and development of artificial intelligence, including in terms of economic and industrial development," Kharchenko added.

According to her, the government will submit a budget bill to Parliament by October 1. Kharchenko also noted that the State Duma will actively work with industry ministries to finance national projects.
