The United States considers Iran's nuclear development unacceptable
The US Department of Energy said that Iran's nuclear program, including all uranium enrichment facilities, should be completely shut down. This was announced on September 15 by U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright at a conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the recording of which is available on the official website of the U.S. Department of Energy.
"Iran's path to nuclear weapons, including all enrichment and reprocessing capabilities, must be completely dismantled," Wright said.
In his opinion, the country should cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and comply with its obligations under safety guarantees.
It is noted that the fulfillment of such requirements is necessary to prevent tension in the region and ensure international security.
Earlier, on August 21, it was reported that representatives of the IAEA intend to hold talks with officials in Washington on the topic of enriched uranium in Iran. IAEA officials traveled to Washington for talks due to growing concern that the United States is unable to independently account for how many weapons-grade uranium reserves remain in Iran after the American strikes.
