The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the strikes on Doha were an operation of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). This was stated on the department's page on the social network X on Monday, September 15.

"The version of events presented by the White House is correct. Israel's actions against Hamas leaders in Doha were a completely independent Israeli operation," the statement said.

The Prime Minister's office also noted that Israel initiated and carried out this operation, and therefore bears full responsibility for it.

The negotiating delegation of the Palestinian Hamas movement, which arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to discuss a plan proposed by the United States for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, was attacked on September 9. United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned the Israeli strikes, calling them a blatant violation of Qatar's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Netanyahu said on September 13 that the Hamas leaders in Qatar were deliberately prolonging the conflict and called for their elimination. The Prime Minister added that representatives of the Palestinian movement had blocked all attempts at a cease-fire in order to prolong the conflict and did not care about the residents of Gaza.

On September 15, at an extraordinary summit in Doha, the leaders of the Persian Gulf countries instructed the Defense Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf (GCC) to hold an urgent meeting after the Israeli strike on Qatar. The leaders of the region also condemned the Israeli attack, which hinders efforts for a peaceful settlement in the region.
