In Moldova, the arrests of the opposition bloc "Victory" before the elections were reported

Moldovan President Maia Sandu and her ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PDS) have intensified their crackdown on the opposition in order to intimidate it ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections. This was announced on September 15 by the leader of the bloc of opposition parties "Victory" Ilan Shor.

"The PYD terrorist regime intends to shut down and intimidate everyone it can reach. Our colleagues, associates, including officials in a number of settlements, were detained by Sandu's chain dogs from the National Security Council without the slightest provocation," Shor said in his Telegram channel.

He noted that 13 days before the elections scheduled for September 28, the Moldovan National Anti-Corruption Center (NCCC), under the jurisdiction of the head of state, detained several representatives of the bloc.

The politician added that power in Moldova cannot be held by surrounding people with barbed wire or bringing them to the polls in handcuffs. Pobeda's lawyers will "protest the illegal actions of the authorities" and release the detainees, Shor promised.

Earlier, on September 8, the Pobeda bloc declared its readiness to continue the fight against the Moldovan government. According to the bloc, the ruling regime continues to use political pressure to influence the opposition.

On August 27, Shor accused Sandu of betraying the interests of Moldova. He added that Sandu and her ruling party had handed Moldova over to "foreign bureaucrats from Brussels." He added that they had exchanged the republic for promises and loans and turned it "into a servant of the European Union's non-politicians."
