Sales of Belgee cars in Russia increased 2.2 times in August and amounted to 7,806 units. The Belarusian brand entered the top five of the Russian car market for the first time, surpassing the Changan brand (7,010 units), the analytical agency Autostat reported on September 15.

According to Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealer center network, Belgee's success in August was due to the distributor's competent pricing policy: investments in federal marketing increased, maximum benefits were applied when buying on credit and trade-in, additional discounts and promotions, convenient installment payment terms were offered (agreements were reached with banks on interest-free installments up to 8 years).

Another consequence of the high sales was the availability of cars at dealers. Belgee machines have been familiar to Russians for a long time, as they were previously introduced to the market under the Geely brand and generated a high level of customer confidence, the specialist noted. The production of cars in Belarus facilitates logistics compared to supplies from China, and the distributor manages to form a flexible pricing policy that allows the brand to win the competition from Odnoklassniki, he said.

Belgee's bestseller is still the X50 model (two thirds of the brand's total sales). It is noted that it can impose competition on such crossovers as the Chery Tiggo 4, Omoda C5 and Exeed LX. According to the expert, Belgee has a chance to gain a foothold in the top five Russian market leaders.

Earlier, on September 9, Belgee announced that sales of the new Belgee X80 hybrid crossover will begin in Belarus at the end of September. It is stated that this is the first series-parallel hybrid in the line of the Belarusian plant. The Chinese Geely Galaxy Starship 7 was used as the basis for the Belgee X80.

Also on that day, it became known that the Belarusian—made Belgee X50 crossover became the best-selling new car in Moscow in August, pushing the former capital's leader, Geely Monjaro, into second place. Yesterday it became known that for the first time in history, the X50 topped the sales ranking in the segment of foreign cars on the Russian car market.
