Roskachestvo told about the types of assistance provided by social workers
Social workers help people with both temporary and permanent disabilities, they can help them buy groceries, do housework, as well as provide psychological support and, if necessary, help them find a lawyer. This was announced on September 15 by the press service of Roskachestvo.
"Most often, the duties of a social worker relate to the household sphere, here an assistant can take on almost all the housework. This includes grocery shopping, cooking in consultation with the ward, delivering water if there is no central water supply, helping with cleaning and taking care of clothes, and paying bills," the organization told RT.
In addition, social workers can arrange leisure time for a person — they will not only purchase books, magazines and newspapers, but also accompany them to a cultural event, help them find employment or get an education, and also arrange a trip to a sanatorium or medical treatment.
Families with disabled children, large families, and people in difficult situations can also use the services of social workers. To do this, it is necessary to send an appropriate questionnaire to the Social Service Center of the area where the applicant lives. According to Roskachestvo, an identity document, a document confirming the place of residence, documents on the composition of the family, a certificate of disability (for persons with disabilities), and a health report should be attached to this application.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on September 11 that the capital ranks first in terms of social support for the population. In addition, according to him, the social projects implemented in the city and the programs implemented in it have no analogues in the world. At the same time, as Sobyanin added, over 70% of support measures have been transferred to digital format for the convenience of residents.
