More than 100,000 people demonstrated against migrants in London
On Saturday, September 13, about 110,000 people in London joined a protest against illegal migration. This is reported by The Guardian with reference to the London police.
The demonstration called "Unite the Kingdom" was organized by right-wing activist Tommy Robinson. In the hands of many participants of the action, you can see the flags of Great Britain, as well as the national flags of England with the cross of St. George. The protesters are shouting slogans against the country's Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the current migration policy.
At the same time, a protest action "Stand up to Racism", organized by supporters of migration, is taking place in London. According to police estimates, about 5,000 people participate in it. Demonstrators carry placards reading "Refugees are welcome" and "We stand against Tommy Robinson."
According to media reports, several clashes took place on Trafalgar Square in Whitehall between participants of the "Unite the Kingdom" rally and the police. At the moment, nine detainees are known.
Some of Robinson's supporters also carry portraits of Charlie Kirk, a political activist and associate of US President Donald Trump. He was shot dead on September 10 at an event at the University of Utah Valley.
Earlier, The Guardian called Kirk's murder the reason for the largest far-right rally in Britain in recent decades.
Charlie Kirk died on September 10 as a result of an assassination attempt. After his death, Trump ordered the national flags on all US administrative buildings to be lowered until September 14 and announced that he would attend the activist's funeral. Kirk's widow Erica suggested that his death could have been caused by the fact that he preached patriotism, faith and the merciful love of God.
