Russian Ambassador Sergei Nechaev was summoned to the German Foreign Ministry amid an incident with drones in the skies over Poland. This was announced on September 12 at the Russian Embassy in Germany.

"The ambassador rejected the unfounded accusations, pointing out the absence of any evidence of Russian involvement in the incident," the ministry said on its website.

The Russian Embassy in Germany added that this is a planned provocation in which Ukraine is interested, suffering defeat on the battlefield, as well as European countries wishing to interfere with the dialogue between Moscow and Washington on the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

Russia has repeatedly and at all levels publicly denied speculation in the West about plans to attack one of the NATO countries, the embassy concluded.

On September 10, the Operational Command of the branches of the Polish Armed Forces (RFA) reported on the defeat of several drones by the Polish military that violated the country's airspace. Later, the Reuters news agency, citing sources in NATO, stated that the alliance does not regard this incident as an attack. The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that there were no plans to destroy targets in Poland.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on September 11 that Poland's baseless accusations against Russia against the background of the drone incident were part of the anti-Russian rhetoric familiar to Europe.

On September 12, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said he disagreed with US President Donald Trump, who called the incident with the downed drones in the country a mistake. According to Sikorski, 19 allegedly Russian drones flew over Poland at that time.
