Investigators have opened a criminal case after the deaths of two people on a cable car on Elbrus. This was announced on September 12 by the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kabardino-Balkaria.
"A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, which negligently caused the death of civilians")," the agency's Telegram channel says.
According to the company Resorts of the North Caucasus, the evacuation of people on Elbrus continues after the accident on the cable car. The rescue efforts are complicated by bad weather conditions. A vertical evacuation of the remaining tourists is currently underway.
Two people were killed and nine injured in an Elbrus cable car accident earlier in the day. It was noted that at the moment, rescue services are working at the scene, and the bodies of the victims are also being evacuated.
