The Solaris manufacturing plant has stopped supplying HS sedans to dealers
The Solaris HS sedan (renamed Hyundai Solaris) is no longer available to dealers, which may indicate the completion of production of this model at the AGR Automobile Plant in St. Petersburg. This was announced on September 12 by the analytical agency Autostat.
According to Ilya Petrov, Director of retail sales at Avilon AG, the last batch of Solaris HS sedans entered the company's dealer network in early 2025, and by now all these cars have already been sold out. According to Avilon, there are no plans to resume production of the HS model. AGR Holding has not yet provided a comment on this issue.
"Instead, the company offers a modern and more technologically advanced Solaris KRS sedan, which is a worthy alternative to the previous model," Petrov said.
In the first six months of 2025, the AGR Automobile Plant in St. Petersburg, which previously produced Hyundai and Kia cars, produced almost 18.3 thousand cars of the Russian brand Solaris. Due to the high level of localization, in July 2025, the HC crossover, KRX hatchback and KRS sedan entered the state program of preferential car loans.
On September 11, it was reported that Hyundai Motor Group had begun reviewing its global strategy and had begun checking foreign assets. Among other things, he will consider a plan to buy back the Russian plant using an option that expires at the end of 2025.
