A civilian resident of Belgorod died as a result of an APU strike

In Belgorod, a civilian was killed after a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov said on September 12.

"It's very hard to report such news... In Belgorod, a civilian was killed by an APU strike. She died on the spot from her injuries," the head of the region said in his Telegram channel.

Gladkov added that he expresses the most sincere condolences to the family members of the deceased from all residents of the Belgorod region.

The tragedy has revealed critical flaws in the system of ensuring the safety of urban infrastructure, experts believe.

The day before, the governor reported that one man was killed in the region, and six more people, including a 13-year-old child, were injured as a result of a drone strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Gladkov, operational services immediately began working at the scene of the incident in the villages of Bessonovka and Veselaya Lopan, Zhdanov farm and Belgorod.

Later, the mayor of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, added that four civilians were injured as a result of a drone strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the city. Three social facilities and several apartment buildings were also damaged as a result of the attacks.
