The FBI received over 7,000 tips about the suspect in Kirk's murder.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and American law enforcement agencies have received more than 7,000 tips on the suspected murder of political activist Charlie Cox, a number that the security services have not received since 2013. This was announced on August 11 by the Governor of Utah Spencer Cox.
"At the moment, we have received more than 7 thousand messages and tips. I would like to point out that the FBI has not received so many tips from the public since the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon (occurred on April 15, 2013. — Ed.)," he said during a press conference.
Cox clarified that the authorities need assistance in finding the perpetrator, as they currently cannot do their job without the help of the public.
On the same day, it became known that a reward of up to $100,000 had been awarded for information on the capture of those involved in Kirk's murder. Later, TMZ TV channel released videos that could have captured the alleged perpetrator, whose photo had previously been distributed to the media. The footage shows a man dressed in all black moving strangely near the university campus, most likely hiding a weapon.
