Police temporarily closed the Annapolis Naval Academy in the United States after shots were fired at the base. This was reported on September 11 by the Fox News channel.

"The US Navy Academy was closed after a cadet who was expelled from the educational institution returned to campus with a weapon," the TV channel said.

In addition, the academy clarified that the base was closed for reasons of caution.

"The base is closed for increased precautions. The situation is developing, and we will provide updated information as it becomes available," the academy's press service said on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

On August 27, NBC News reported that a shooting had occurred at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Later, the Reuters news agency reported that three people died as a result of the tragedy, including two children and the attacker himself, who committed suicide. In addition, according to information provided by the US Department of Justice, 20 people were injured as a result of the shooting.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
