There have been 364 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.
Over the past day, 364 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 33 people were killed and 420 injured. 27 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on September 11 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
22 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, however, 237 road users, including three children, required medical assistance. Eight bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.
As a result of 93 accidents, 40 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 53 outside their area of operation, six pedestrians were killed, and 88 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 21 pedestrian children, 11 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas.
52 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 59 young road users were injured, including 21 passengers, four cyclists and five motor transport drivers. There are no dead children. According to operational data from the State Traffic Inspectorate, in the first decade of September 2025, 548 accidents involving minors under the age of 16 occurred in Russia, in which 10 children were killed and 609 injured.
Motorists were urged to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of towns and cities in the early autumn, when the children returned home after a long summer vacation and started school. Special care should be taken when making maneuvers or driving through courtyards and house territories, as well as road sections adjacent to preschool and school educational organizations.
The State Traffic Inspectorate also reminded parents of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them. Retroreflective elements should be used on children's outerwear to improve the visibility of young pedestrians in the evening.
The ministry advised to hold an explanatory conversation with children about the rules of safe travel on personal mobility equipment, bicycles and scooters, paying special attention to the inadmissibility of minors under the age of 14 traveling on public roads, as well as the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing.
"In addition, we advise you not to be distracted by extraneous phone conversations, correspondence, or viewing Internet images on a smartphone screen while walking with children. The lack or negligence of parental control over the behavior and leisure of preschool and primary school—age children often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users, even if they are on a joint walk very close to adults," said the deputy head of the Department of road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Colonel police officer Anton Belan.
Earlier, on September 4, the State Traffic Inspectorate recalled that citizens and legal entities who, on the day of their admission to Russia, permanently resided in the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, are required to replace registration documents and license plates with Russian ones by January 1, 2026.
