The media learned about the amount needed by the West to support Ukraine in 2026
Ukraine may need a record $60 billion in financial support from the West in 2026. This follows from the data of the Ukrainian Cabinet, which TASS cites on September 11.
It is specified that this amount will not include direct arms supplies and funds allocated by the United States for the purchase of weapons under the Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL — list of priority requirements of Ukraine) program. Kiev's need for external assistance to continue the conflict is growing. If in 2024 it was about $30 billion, then by 2026 it is projected to increase to $ 60 billion, the material says.
The monthly need for assistance to maintain a positive current account balance increased from $3 billion at the beginning of the year to $5 billion by the end, the agency writes. The need for assistance has grown from $1-2 billion per month. Thus, the total cost of the West to support Kiev in 2026 may amount to at least $ 75-80 billion, and is likely to exceed this amount.
On September 9, US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green proposed to withdraw funding for military aid to Ukraine in 2026. She called on Republicans to pay attention to the real financial difficulties of their citizens, instead of ignoring them and financing another country.
