US President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the attack on Doha during a tense telephone conversation. This was reported on September 10 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing a source.

According to the newspaper, Trump expressed to Netanyahu his opinion that striking the Qatari capital was not a wise decision.

It is noted that the US president was outraged that he learned about the Israeli operation from the US military, and not from Israel. He told the Prime Minister that the strike had been carried out against a US ally, a mediator in the negotiations on a ceasefire in Gaza. Netanyahu replied that he had limited options for a strike and decided to use them, according to the material.

Later, as the source noted, the telephone conversation between the leaders became more friendly. Trump asked Netanyahu about the success of the attack, to which the prime minister replied that he did not know yet.

The Times of Israel l newspaper reported on September 10 that for the first time since the attacks on Hamas leaders in Doha, Netanyahu directly mentioned Qatar and accused the country of "harboring terrorists." In addition, Netanyahu compared the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) strike on the top leadership of Hamas with the US operations that were carried out after the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

A Hamas negotiating delegation that arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss a plan proposed by the United States for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip was attacked on September 9.

On the same day, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, condemned the Israeli strikes on Qatar, calling them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state.

The Russian Foreign Ministry regards the Israeli strike on Doha as a gross violation of international law and the UN Charter. In addition, the Russian ministry stressed that the rocket attack on Qatar, which plays an important role in mediation between Hamas and Israel, is aimed at undermining international efforts to find peaceful solutions to end the conflict.
