The IAEA announced an unstable safety situation at the nuclear power plant
Six of the seven sustainability criteria at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) are under threat, and the security situation remains unstable. This was announced on September 10 on the website of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
"The safety situation at the NPP remains unstable, six of the seven sustainability criteria are under threat. The ongoing <combat> activity, including attacks in the immediate vicinity of the NPP site, is deeply worrying, increasing stress and risk," said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
Grossi called for maximum military restraint near the nuclear power plant in order to avoid a serious nuclear accident.
Earlier, on September 4, Grossi said that nuclear safety at the nuclear power plant remains extremely unstable, as the risk of a radiation accident persists as long as the conflict continues. On September 6, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the ZAES training center with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The impact hit the roof of the "G" building.
