Tens of thousands of households and many organizations in Berlin were left without electricity after the arson of power lines, which is suspected by representatives of left-wing radical organizations. This was reported on September 9 by Der Spiegel magazine, citing data from the Stromnetz Berlin network operator.

"After a fire on high-voltage cables in southeastern Berlin, tens of thousands of households and numerous companies continue to go without electricity. The Treptov-Kepenik area was particularly affected," the publication says.

It is specified that in the worst case scenario, electricity will be unavailable until Thursday, September 11, as it will be necessary to carry out quite impressive work in order to restore the disrupted processes, according to Eric Landeck, managing director of Stromnetz Berlin.

Residents of the city who were affected by this problem were urged to prepare flashlights for the evening hours, and those in whose homes the power supply was not damaged were asked to use this resource sparingly.

Horizont Magasin reported large-scale power outages on the Swedish island of Gotland on August 23. The consequences of this incident were eliminated 2.5 hours after their start. The publication quoted Kalle Blomberg, the manager of the local Geab energy company, as saying that the cause of the incident was unknown.
