Telephone scammers began to act in accordance with a new scheme to deceive Russians — they urge them to buy jewelry with all the funds available to citizens, and then give them to the courier. This became known on September 9th.

As the RIA Novosti news agency found out, the attackers, posing as law enforcement officers in a telephone conversation, under various pretexts, including about "saving" money, convince victims to purchase expensive jewelry.

After this operation is performed, they ask the person who trusted them to give the purchase to the courier and stop contacting them.

A day earlier, the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Russian Interior Ministry reported another fraud scheme, according to which the attackers offer the victim to contact a false participant. During a conversation with an alleged police representative, Russians are persuaded to transfer money, which eventually ends up with fraudsters.
