Rosstandart has imposed fines on sellers of child seat substitutes
Rosstandart has imposed fines on sellers of surrogate child restraints, including the so-called "triangles" for seat belts. This was reported by TASS on September 8.
The measures were taken on the basis of information sent by Roskachestvo. After the inspection, two individual entrepreneurs were brought to administrative responsibility, each fined 10,000 rubles.
It is indicated that one of them has withdrawn products from sale on a popular marketplace. Another seller voluntarily stopped selling such goods and "took measures to prevent violations in the future," Rosstandart said.
Straps, flexible elements with buckles, adapters, fasteners, seat belt pads and other similar items are not child restraint systems and cannot be used to ensure the safety of children. The use of surrogate devices poses a direct threat to the life and health of children in an accident, Roskachestvo recalled.
Earlier, on September 1, auto expert Igor Morzharetto said that for transporting children in a car not in a special chair, but in its substitute, from September 1, 2025, you can get a fine. In the previous edition of the traffic regulations, the use of "other restraining devices" was allowed, which car owners used when buying cheap devices that did not ensure the safety of the child, he noted.
