- The Alley of Glory of the Heroes of the Far East was opened as part of the WEF-2025
As part of the tenth anniversary Eastern Economic Forum, an Alley of Fame dedicated to the heroes of the Far East has appeared on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University.
The object consists of seven three-dimensional steles dedicated to 53 servicemen of the Eastern Military District who were awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of the Russian Federation. The steles contain information about the exploits of the warriors. Detailed information about them is published in a special section on the FEFU website.
"The Far East is a region where the concept of "heroism" has a special meaning. This is the land where the fate of the world was decided in August of '45, where the million-strong Kwantung army was crushed in a matter of days. This fighting prowess still lives in those Far Easterners who ensure Russia's security and sovereignty in a rapidly changing world. The opening of the alley is an important step towards preserving the memory of the heroes. We are ready to consider similar initiatives, including from businesses, for inclusion in the program of other major business events," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia and Executive Secretary of the WEF Organizing Committee.
The theme of the 80th anniversary of Victory has taken an important place in the WEF-2025 program. As part of the opening of the Far East Street exhibition and the celebration of Victory Day over Militaristic Japan, a solemn procession with a large St. George ribbon was held along the FEFU embankment to the main stage of the exhibition. Also, to the accompaniment of the Nevelsky Moscow State University Variety Orchestra, the honor guard of the S.O. Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School brought the flag of the Russian Federation and the Victory Banner to the site. In addition, the site of the WARRIOR center operated. In honor of the celebration of this date, 80 trees were planted at the WEF as part of the MAER Media holding's Living Heritage project. In addition, an International scientific and practical conference "Lessons of the Great Patriotic War and the Second World War: on the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory" was held. A tricolor with an area of more than 150 square meters was placed on the FEFU campus.
The tenth Eastern Economic Forum is taking place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme this year is "The Far East: cooperation for peace and prosperity." The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
