Guard Corporal Dmitry Tsyganov was assigned the task of protecting an anti-aircraft missile battery from attacks by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). During the movement of the battery to a new position, Tsyganov noticed an approaching enemy kamikaze drone in the sky. The Russian Ministry of Defense on Monday, September 8, told about the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

Tsyganov immediately contacted the battery commander and warned about the approach of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Then he shot down the drone with his personal small arms.

When the anti-aircraft missile battery took up a new position, a guided aerial bomb of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was detected in the sky. As a result of the coordinated work of the Russian military, the bomb was destroyed in the air and did not cause damage to equipment and personnel.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the dedication and courage of the guard of Junior Sergeant Andrei Cherkasov, who participated in the capture of a fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of an assault group.

The soldier was given the task of sneaking unnoticed to the enemy from the flank. While his comrades-in-arms were distracting the attention of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Cherkasov overcame an open area of terrain and found himself on the flank. He approached the Ukrainian Armed Forces firing points and attacked them with hand grenades. In addition, the soldier eliminated part of the enemy's personnel. This gave his comrades the opportunity to break into the stronghold and occupy it.

Earlier, on September 7, the Russian Defense Ministry told how Private Azat Azov, during the rotation of Russian Armed Forces personnel in frontline positions, provided first aid to the wounded as a result of mortar fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Prior to that, on September 6, the department reported that Private Ivan Kuka, as a driver, was loading ammunition into the Msta-S self-propelled artillery system (ACS) when the AFU gunners opened fire on the positions of his crew.
