Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) plans to begin the first stages of assembly of Volga cars. This was announced to journalists on September 5 by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
"They expect to start the first stages of assembly and production by the spring of next year," the TASS news agency quoted Manturov as saying.
He stated this when asked about the timing of the Volga production project and the involvement of one of the Chinese companies in it.
At the same time, the first Deputy Prime Minister did not comment on the participation of Chinese partners.
Earlier, on September 2, Manturov announced Russia's interest in industrial cooperation with China. It is noted that in the field of industry, the automotive industry and energy engineering are on the agenda.
