In Novi Sad, Serbia, anti-government protesters throw stones and bottles at police officers in front of the university's philosophy department. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on September 5.

"Now the police have pushed the protesters away from the faculty building. Stones and bottles are still flying at them, and there is an incredible amount of tear gas in the air," correspondent Sergei Petrov reported from the scene.

He noted that the participants continue the action and do not disperse even after spraying tear gas. Some people try to escape from the scene of the skirmishes with yards. At the same time, the guards continue to try to disperse the crowd.

"As a result, the crowd was trapped in the same square where the march started and where the relatively peaceful rally was held," the correspondent said.

On September 1, several central streets were blocked in Belgrade, the capital, amid regular protests, and the city was "stuck in traffic jams." The march was organized jointly with students and students of secondary educational institutions. The protest action is of a memorial nature, since that day marked 10 months since the tragedy in Novi Sad, where 15 people died after the roof collapsed at the train station.

On August 26, Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic reported that protesters had used physical force in front of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad to prevent police officers from approaching the building. It was clarified that the dean had called the police. At the same time, law enforcement officers, according to the Izvestia source, tried not to use force.

Anti-government protests began after 15 people died in the collapse of the railway station in Novi Sad in November 2024. The protesters blocked bridges and roads.
