Domestic cars with the best residual value are named
Among the three-year-old cars of Russian brands, the Lada Vesta SW Cross station wagon has the best residual value. In other words, such a car can currently be sold for more than the price it was bought for. This was announced on September 5 by analysts of the Autostat agency, having studied the data for the second quarter of this year.
The rating was topped by the Izhevsk-built Vesta SW Cross, which has a 1.6-liter engine and a manual transmission. Three years after the purchase, made in the second quarter of 2022, the residual value of this model averages 111.8%.
The second place in the rating is occupied by the Lada Largus station wagon of Tolyatti production with a 1.6-liter engine and mechanics. The residual value of this model at the age of three years was 104.9%. Completing the top three is the Lada Niva Legend SUV (1.7 liters, manual transmission) with a score of 101%.
The main reason that a three-year-old car is now more expensive than being new in 2022 is the increase in car prices that has been observed in the Russian Federation over the past few years, and in some periods it was very sharp, analysts said.
Earlier, on September 4, it was reported that Russia recorded the first increase in the average cost of both foreign and domestic cars this year. Despite this, prices are under pressure from pent-up demand due to expectations for a revision of macroeconomic indicators.
