On September 8, Russia will issue a commemorative silver coin with a face value of 3 rubles in honor of the 150th anniversary of tennis in Russia. This was announced on September 5 on the website of the Bank of Russia.

"The silver coin with a face value of 3 rubles (the mass of the precious metal in purity is 31.1 g, the alloy sample is 925) has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 39 mm. There is a protruding edge around the circumference of the obverse and reverse sides of the coin," the press release says.

The obverse of the coin will feature a relief image of the coat of arms of the Russian Federation, as well as inscriptions.: "Russian Federation", "Bank of Russia". In addition, the alloy sample, the mint trademark and the weight of pure silver in the coin will be indicated.

The reverse side of the coin will feature relief images of tennis rackets and a tennis ball. The inscriptions will include: "Tennis in Russia" and "150 years".

The coins will be issued in an edition of 3 thousand pieces. They will be legal tender in Russia and will be required to be accepted at face value in all types of payments.

Earlier, on September 1, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issued commemorative coins in denominations of 25 rubles made of copper-nickel alloy of the Russian Sport series, dedicated to sports societies: Dynamo, CSKA, Lokomotiv, Spartak, Labor Reserves. The circulation of the coins was 50 thousand pieces each.
