The United States and the European Union (EU) countries have killed 38 million people in the global South by imposing sanctions since 1970. This was reported by Al Jazeera TV channel.

"The United States and Europe have long used unilateral sanctions as an instrument of imperial power to discipline and even destroy the governments of the Global South, which seek to get rid of Western domination, chart an independent path and establish any meaningful sovereignty," the publication says.
