Sobyanin spoke about the popularity of the Northern River Station after the restoration

The Severny Rechnoy Vokzal in Moscow, which opened five years ago after restoration, has regained its title as one of the most important transport facilities in the city, and its berths have already received and sent more than a million passengers on a journey. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

In his channel at the IACH, he recalled that during the "grandiose restoration" the famous fountains, sculptures, murals, porcelain medallions, a spire with a movable mechanism and the main decorative element — the star of the spire, which is decorated with 700 gems, were restored.

"Thanks to the developed infrastructure, the Severny Rechnoy Vokzal has also become a favorite vacation spot for citizens," the mayor wrote. On the territory of the station, in particular, there is a stream imitating the Moscow Canal, an exhibition space of the Moscow Museum of Transport and an observation deck on the roof, a landscaped embankment with bike paths and rental points, children's and sports grounds.

Sobyanin recalled that free events for children and adults and festivals are organized year-round at the station. "Over the 5 years of operation, the Northern River Station has been visited by more than 12 million people," the mayor noted. "More than 1.5 thousand events have taken place at its venues."

He also promised that the development of the station's territory will continue in the coming years: new modern recreation and sports areas will be equipped in the park.

At the end of August, Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry, reported that about 70,000 people had listened to audio tours while traveling by regular river electric transport in Moscow. "This format is in demand among passengers: audio accompaniment is available from 2023 on the Kievsky — Fili Park and ZIL — Pechatniki routes," he said.

According to Liksutov, the opportunity to listen to audio tours appeared on the new route "Novospassky — ZIL". The authorities continue to develop regular river electric transport on behalf of the mayor, he added.
